Frame 609

So, after nearly cracking under the pressure of deciding what the title of my first “real post” would be, (apparently it’s got to be oh-so-important and a profound statement to the world!) I decided it needed to be something to the effect of “let’s get this thing going”, and being the big Star Wars dork that I am, well… you see it up there.

But then I thought about how fitting it really is, because I haven’t really planned out yet what I’m doing here and who knows what’ll happen. A year ago I tried to get something underway over on Blogger.net, but it ended up mainly being a place to put my birthday and then Christmas lists, so relatives would have some idea of what to get me.

This time around, it’ll be different… I think.

So, as of now, I think the plan is for this place to revolve around the world of standards based web development, css web design, seo, and gadget related goodness — of course there are probably several thousand blogs out there that meet that description, so of course I might have to mix it up with the occasional random thought and maybe a music recommendation or two.

The name…

…For the site, comes from the name of a song that I really like by Jawbox, plus the year of my birth. Also just thought it was an interesting looking word.  It turns out there’s some other significance to using “Iodine”, but that merely is a coincidence I’ll get into later.

…For the blog, comes from a line in said song listed above… “Fade from Left to Right, Frame Six-Hundred Nine”.

BTW… shouts out to co-worker (for another 2 weeks) Frank Ablola and to fellow Seattle SMXer Jason Murphy for pushing me to take this jump into hyperspace.

Oh C’mon! I’m a programmer! You know I can’t just delete it!

And I’m a designer too, so of course I’ve got to make it whitty somehow!
